Time for Change?

Cognitive Hypnotherapy can help you to achieve the changes you wish to see in your life

Hypnotherapy as a tool for transformation

There are many myths and misunderstandings about hypnosis and many people perceive hypnotherapy as being alternative or wacky.  Just the word conjures up scary visions of people being made unconscious by a magician-type-person who has the power to humiliate and manipulate them into doing things they don’t want to do. This is stage hypnotism not hypnotherapy.

Hypnosis is simply getting the mind into a relaxed and focused state where we know it is more open to change. We’re actually in this state for most of the day without realising it, for example when we’re not fully present with what we are doing in the moment or daydreaming. It’s when we are in this state that our minds are unconsciously picking up much information from around us. For example from advertising which entice us to the new products and brands.  It’s also while we’re in this state of daily trance that we tend to ‘do’ our issues more.

In Hypnotherapy we utilise this state of relaxation within a therapeutic context, to achieve positive changes in our lives. Hypnotherapy is used, not to put people into trance, but to take them out of the trance in which they would normally do their issue.

Please cast aside what you’ve seen the stage hypnotists do to shock and entertain their audiences. I could not hypnotise you, any more than I can meditate or daydream you and the only aim is your healing and empowerment.

I’m passionate about helping people to reach their potential and lead healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives. I work collaboratively with clients to help them let go of the repetitive patterns of thoughts, habits or behaviours that prevent them from achieving what they desire in their lives, and to replace these unconscious approaches with new, deliberate and beneficial, conscious approaches.

It’s all in the mind

We all have behaviours, habits, fears and anxieties which we know are reducing the quality of our lives but which we somehow seem unable to change. This is because the unconscious mind drives our behaviour and responses 90% of the time. Just deciding we want to change isn’t always enough and that’s why we tend to go round in circles trying different strategies without success.

If we want to create lasting changes in our lives we have to get to the root of the issues, in our unconscious mind.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy

Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a highly effective approach that helps to ‘rewire’ the unconscious mind so that it stops driving the unwanted thoughts, emotions or behaviours which stop you getting to where you wish to be in your life. This is a modern approach to hypnotherapy that incorporates a range of cutting edge techniques and approaches such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Life Coaching, positive psychology and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

I will build a unique and tailored approach to gently help you overcome the unconscious triggers behind the undesirable patterns of behaviour, thoughts or emotions and cultivate more healthy approaches, to get you where you want to be in your life.

I work collaboratively with my clients over a number of sessions to help them improve the quality of their lives and improve the way they feel about themselves. No two clients are the same and each session is uniquely tailored to you. I will make sure that you leave with tools and techniques which you can use between sessions.
