Creating change by working with the unconscious mind

You want to change so why hasn’t it happened so far?

  • Why do we make resolutions over and over again but find ourselves right back doing that same old habit or pattern?
  • Why do those same old feelings keep erupting and sabotaging our health, success and relationships?
  • Why does it sometimes feel as though our mind and body has a mind of its own?

We all have behaviours, habits, fears and anxieties which we know are reducing the quality of our lives but which we somehow seem unable to change.
We like to think we’re in charge but our unconscious mind is guiding our behaviour and responses to everyday situations 90% of the time without us realising it. That means we are in a practiced trance for the majority of our lives, acting on autopilot to things around us we are not even aware of.

That’s why deciding we want to change often isn’t enough. It explains why we carry on doing the same things over and over again. We do our very best and try different strategies but without success. Most of the time all we’re actually doing is managing surface symptoms instead of getting to the root of the issue.

Working with the unconscious mind

The unconscious mind is a storehouse of information including our deepest fears, beliefs and attitudes. It uses past experiences to give context to present situations in order to guide our response in each situation, and thereby keep us safe. If we attacked or threatened by a dog once upon a time, our unconscious mind will be on alert for all signs of dog, and can activate a whole-body flight, fright or freeze response to protect us if it senses impending danger again.
Whilst this intricately complex system is perfectly designed to keep us safe and ready to respond to danger, it can also hold us back by activating ‘danger’ responses in everyday situation such as public speaking, intimacy, social situations, success, work, fitness and other everyday situations which we actually want.

If we want to create lasting changes in our lives we have to get to the root of the issues in our unconscious mind. Many of the techniques that I incorporate into my practice, such as hypnotherapy, time-line therapy and neuro-linguistic programming, work by helping to retrain and rewire the unconscious mind so that it stops driving the unwanted thoughts, emotions or behaviours that stop you getting what you really want in your life.

So if we want to create lasting changes in our lives we have to get to the root of the issues, in our unconscious mind. Cognitive Hypnotherapy works to ‘rewire’ the unconscious mind so that it stops driving the unwanted thoughts, emotions or behaviours that stop you getting to where you wish to be in your life.

Why the need for heavy metal detoxification?

Heavy metals wreak havoc on the body. They are associated with ADHD, ADD, focus and concentration problems such as brain fog, irritation, frustration, SIBO, urinary tract infections, sinus infections, acne, fatigue, migraines, spasms, twitches, anxiety, depression and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). What’s more, the presence of high heavy metal toxicity feeds viruses and can increase […]
